Why Do I Feel Like a Loser When the Bible says I am More than a Conqueror?
CONVERSATIONS
Here’s a handy checklist when those feelings come:
1. Check your words
What words are coming out of my mouth? Are they mostly words of doubt, frustration and defeat? Are they boastful or arrogant words?
When we are going through challenges, it’s tempting to blurt out comments or expressions carelessly. “I don’t care!“ “I’m a victim! It’s not my fault.” “Nobody loves me!” “Life is so hard.” “Why do bad things always happen to me?”
Check also the words you use on other people. “He’ll never change!” “My marriage is doomed.” “My kids are a wreck.” “You’re a pain in the neck!” “I’m always sick.” “It’s hopeless!”
Q. Based on the verses below, what consequences do careless words have on people’s lives?

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 18:21
Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly will come to ruin. Proverbs 13:3
2. Check the company you keep.
Who do you enjoy hanging out with? Their lifestyle may be fun now, but how will it look like, down the road? What will your future be if you kept following their behavior? Will you be healthier? More connected to your love ones?
We must be careful with the words we speak, but we also must check whose voices we’re LISTENING to as well. Some people’s words and influence are faith-busters not faith-builders.
Who is influencing me the most in the way I’m actually living my life?
Do not be deceived: "Bad company corrupts good morals.” Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. 1Corinthians 15:33-34
3. Check God’s Words
Q. How do these verses help you RESPOND like a Winner even when you feel like a loser?

The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand. Psalm 37:23-24
But they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5
But Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
I can do all things through him who strengthens me. (from the Apostle Paul) Philippians 4:13
PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father,
The Bible is so full of your encouragement and your promises to us.
Help me to listen to your words more than the influence of the world.
You have a plan and a destiny for me. I was not born to be a loser, but an overcomer through Christ.
Put a guard on my lips, so the words I speak about myself and others are life-giving, not death-producing. Let my words be seeds of hope, faith and humility; not hopelessness, doubt or pride.
I repent of the words I have carelessly spoken that have brought harm to me or to others. Pls. undo those words, Lord.
Remind me Holy Spirit, when I mindlessly utter careless sentences out of habit.
Father, put in me a desire to choose good company, people who will bring out the giftings and talents You have put inside of me; those who will lead me in a wise and godly way to live a life that pleases You.
Help me be that kind of person that influences others for good and not for harm.
Help me respond like a winner, full of faith, because You have won the victory for me in Jesus name, Amen.
My Comments Policy
While my site offers visitors the ability to converse, I have a few ground rules so that our conversations will remain civil and courteous.
1. You must register in order to leave a comment. I don’t entertain pseudo, anonymous or bogus individuals. This site is my home (it has a Home Page, get it). I don’t let strangers who don’t introduce themselves into my home.
2. I love questions. I love them because a lot of times they are similar to someone else’s questions and can even trigger other questions from others. Questions also keep us all sharp. This is also why I respond to them as best as I can and at the soonest possible time. I believe that group answering benefits more people than private email exchanges.
3. We don’t have to agree. Debates are welcome. However, whether it is with me or any other visitors of my site, my rule is this: disagree if you must but keep things civil. That’s just how I run my home, and you are a visitor here. No shouting; I have seen it done in writing. No cursing and no insulting.
4. I reserve the right to delete your comments. Like I said, this is my home. I do not have an obligation to publish your comments. As a human being, you may enjoy the freedom to express your opinions on your own site but not on mine. To be specific, I will delete your comments if you post content that is in my sole opinion: (a) snarky; (b) off-topic; (c) libelous, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, profane, pornographic, offensive, false, misleading, or which otherwise violates or encourages others to violate my sense of decorum, civility or any law, including intellectual property laws; or (d) “spam,” i.e. an attempt to advertise, solicit, or otherwise promote goods and services. You may, however, post a link to your site or your most recent blog entry.
5. You retain ownership of your comments. I do not own them and I expressly disclaim any and all liability that may result from them. By commenting on my site, you agree that you retain all ownership rights in what you post here and that you will relieve me from any and all liability that may result from those posts.
6. You grant me the license to post your comments. This license is worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, and royalty-free. By posting comments on my site, you automatically grant me the right to store, use, transmit, display, publish, reproduce, and distribute your comments in any format, including but not limited to a blog, in a book, video, or presentation.
In short, my goal is to host interesting conversations with caring, honest, and respectful people. I believe this clear and simple comments policy will facilitate this.
