I Want More!

Let’s Have a Conversation…

When I see a box of chocolates, maybe some chocolate-covered macadamia nuts, or even a bag of potato chips, it is so difficult to limit myself to just 1 or 2 pieces…something inside me cries “I want more!”

That also goes for the bigger things in life, our dreams, our plans for the future.

We don’t want to stay the same, or keep the status quo, our tendency is to want more.

Does that happen to you?

What is it in life that you want more of?

MORE… M oney O pportunities R ecognition E nergy/ Enjoyment

But when does “More” begin to mean “never enough”? _____________________________________________________________________

When does More” lead to burn-out, or broken marriages or absentee parents? _____________________________________________________________________

_____________________________________________________________________ Could it be possible, that in our search for more of the desires mentioned above, what our souls are really are hungering for, deep inside, are:

MORE… M eaning in Life (what am I here for?) O  pen-heartedness ( what can I pour my heart on?) R  elationships ( with people that really matter) E  xcellence (a life lived well, not a mediocre life)

It’s interesting that even God Himself wants us to have More. But more of the things that really matter .

Ephesians 3:26 says: Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.

It is exciting to know that God has plans that are BIGGER and BETTER than those we could ever dream of for ourselves or our families!

The key is for us NOT TO depend on our own understanding or striving, but to wait quietly on the Lord and receive Power from his Holy Spirit. When we make the decision to obey God, no matter what, amazing things begin to happen.

It is His Power and his Directions that will give us the “More” kind of Life, Rich, meaningful and satisfying.

Prayer:

Dear Jesus,

I want more of You and less of me. My understanding, my imagination, my powers and abilities are all limited. Only You can give me TRUE meaning in life. Only you can provide blessings and promotion that have no regrets in the end.

I receive you as the Savior of my life, one who will also save me from wrong decisions and empower me to make wise choices in life.

More than any material need, let there be more of Your presence , for only You hold the key to an abundant life.
