How Can I Have a More Productive Lifestyle?
CONVERSATIONS:
I’ve been reading a book entitled “A Great Day at the Office” by Dr. John Briffa, which had these statements in Chapter 9:
“Life’s problems and challenges can sometimes cause us to be despondent or become anxious. Occasionally, we may just feel overwhelmed and wonder how we’re ever going to cope with the demands of the job.”
“. . . When the heart and brain are ‘out of sync’, we can feel anxious, defocused, scattered in our thinking and stressed. When the heart and brain are harmonized, though, we have the potential to feel peaceful, energized, focused and full of bright ideas.”
Dr. Briffa emphasizes on the importance of having an attitude of gratitude.
It is interesting, that long before Dr. Briffa, or any of us, were born, the Bible was already giving us words of wisdom as seen in the following verses:
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
What does Scripture teach us?
*Gratitude Is Vital to a Productive Life: A productive person is a grateful person. When you are able to see the good hand of the Lord at work in your life, you will become a better steward of your life.
When I find myself waking up in the wrong side of the bed, my wife Marie, always reminds me, Joey, “Think of 5 things to thank God for.” It is amazing how that habit of taking those few minutes to pause and reflect on the blessings you already have, can set your day on the right track.
Q. What specific things or blessings can you thank God for right now? Can you think of 5 things you are grateful for?

* A Productive Lifestyle is one where God is honored.
You may be the busiest person in the planet, but if you are engaged in activities that don’t please God, then you will always feel something “empty” or missing in your life.
On the other hand, you may be the ticket guy at a toll booth, but if you do your work, with a grateful heart and a great attitude, God is pleased with you.
“And whatever you do, whether by speech or action, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Colossians 3:17 ISV
Q. Is your lifestyle and attitude pleasing to the Lord? If so, why or why not?

PRAYER:
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Holy Word. Thank you that I am even alive and able to read this.
Thank you for this gift of life and the opportunities and relationships that You have blessed me with. Create in me a grateful heart, Lord. Thank you even for these five blessings:
Father, help me also be a good steward of my day and to manage my schedule properly.
Give me wisdom to do the activities that You approve of. I want to live a meaningful and productive life that is a blessing to You and to my fellowmen, in Jesus name. Amen.
“And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” Matthew 22:37 ESV
My Comments Policy
While my site offers visitors the ability to converse, I have a few ground rules so that our conversations will remain civil and courteous.
1. You must register in order to leave a comment. I don’t entertain pseudo, anonymous or bogus individuals. This site is my home (it has a Home Page, get it). I don’t let strangers who don’t introduce themselves into my home.
2. I love questions. I love them because a lot of times they are similar to someone else’s questions and can even trigger other questions from others. Questions also keep us all sharp. This is also why I respond to them as best as I can and at the soonest possible time. I believe that group answering benefits more people than private email exchanges.
3. We don’t have to agree. Debates are welcome. However, whether it is with me or any other visitors of my site, my rule is this: disagree if you must but keep things civil. That’s just how I run my home, and you are a visitor here. No shouting; I have seen it done in writing. No cursing and no insulting.
4. I reserve the right to delete your comments. Like I said, this is my home. I do not have an obligation to publish your comments. As a human being, you may enjoy the freedom to express your opinions on your own site but not on mine. To be specific, I will delete your comments if you post content that is in my sole opinion: (a) snarky; (b) off-topic; (c) libelous, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, profane, pornographic, offensive, false, misleading, or which otherwise violates or encourages others to violate my sense of decorum, civility or any law, including intellectual property laws; or (d) “spam,” i.e. an attempt to advertise, solicit, or otherwise promote goods and services. You may, however, post a link to your site or your most recent blog entry.
5. You retain ownership of your comments. I do not own them and I expressly disclaim any and all liability that may result from them. By commenting on my site, you agree that you retain all ownership rights in what you post here and that you will relieve me from any and all liability that may result from those posts.
6. You grant me the license to post your comments. This license is worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, and royalty-free. By posting comments on my site, you automatically grant me the right to store, use, transmit, display, publish, reproduce, and distribute your comments in any format, including but not limited to a blog, in a book, video, or presentation.
In short, my goal is to host interesting conversations with caring, honest, and respectful people. I believe this clear and simple comments policy will facilitate this.
