Volunteers up by 35% at Victory Fort
While I was in China I received an update on the results of this year's first Volunteer Weekend. That's when we invite members to volunteer for the various ministries of the church. From singers and musicians, ushers, kid's ministry, communication and creatives, technical support and administrative services - we again broke last year's record.
From approximately 1500 last year we had over 2,000 volunteers this year, that's at least 35% increase. Fact is there are over 340 singers and musicians that comprise the Fort's worship team. That's like a congregation on its own.
This picture was taken this morning. As I arrived at church I stumbled into the briefing meeting of the volunteers who drive the church shuttle service for the people who are parked along University Avenue. Amazingly we even have lady drivers.
Thanks guys, your service to the church is very encouraging. Volunteerism is crucial to the church community. It was volunteerism that build the wall s of Jerusalem in the time of Nehemiah. Not just volunteers but large numbers of volunteers.
