Are Demons Real?

CONVERSATIONS:

Yes, demons are real. They are unclean spirits as mentioned in the Bible. Their main focus is to kill, steal and destroy the purpose of the Lord in a persons life.

There is a lot to cover but here is a short guide on how the enemy often works:

1. Through Temptation: Temptation is defined as: a desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.

Have you ever experienced going about your day, then all of a sudden, some weird, crazy thought enters your head? (example: Go check out your old boyfriend/girlfriend on Facebook. Never mind that youre married.)

Or: Go ahead and cheat. No one will know.

Temptation is the enemys way to cause you to doubt Gods Word and instructions to you. The devil uses temptation to make sin look attractive.

2. Through Deception:

Deception is: an act or statement intended to make people believe something that is not true.

The enemy sometimes uses situations in our life, and puts thoughts in our heads that will cause us to doubt Gods goodness to us.

Ex. ?If God really loved you, this should not have happened.

Think of Adam and Eves situation, and how the serpent came and caused them to be dissatisfied with following God.

He did the same ploy on Jesus, several times in Matthew 4: Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, "If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say, He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you wont even hurt your foot on a stone." ?Jesus responded, ?"The Scriptures also say, You must not test the LORD?your God." ? ?Matthew 4:5-7

The devil used a partial truth that mixed part of Gods word and part of his deception. (half-truth a partially true statement intended to deceive or mislead.)

3. Through Condemnation & Accusation:

If you yielded to sin, the devil then uses your guilt to his advantage.

He will either make you feel always condemned, never be able to be forgiven by God, (Its too late to change.) or he will tempt you to react in pride and say I dont need God anyway.

How to Conquer:

A good guide is to read Matthew Chapters 3 and 4, and see how Jesus while on earth, overcame personal temptation:

A. Focus on the Word, not the emotion. What does Gods word say? Trust in Gods Word, despite your emotions.

Jesus knew what it was like to go through a desert experience for a long, long time. He felt hunger, extreme loneliness and demonic oppression. He was tempted by the devil to give in to: lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh and prideful ambition.

Each time, he held on to Gods words in Scripture:

But Jesus told him, No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.

Jesus responded, ?The Scriptures also say, You must not test the LORD, your God.

Get out of here, Satan, Jesus told him. For the Scriptures say, You must worship the LORD your God and serve only him.

B. BOLDLY ?Declare the promises of God over your situation and expect Godly results.

As a Christian, know that you have a relationship with a Heavenly Father who loves you unconditionally; a Savior who know exactly what youre going through; and the power of the Holy Spirit to powerfully deliver you.

And when he had called to him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease. ? Matthew 10:1

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.??James 4:7

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father,

The enemy came to steal, kill and destroy, but You have come to give me an overcoming life. Let me fill my heart with the truth of your Word daily, so that I will not fall for the devils lies.

Help me to remember that I am not alone. You see my struggle and you will deliver me from it. You are always with me.

I have a relationship with a Heavenly Father who loves me unconditionally; a Savior who has won the battle for me ; and the power of the Holy Spirit to keep me strong.

Let the truth of your Word guide me, in Jesus name, Amen.

My Comments Policy

While my site offers visitors the ability to converse, I have a few ground rules so that our conversations will remain civil and courteous.

1. You must register in order to leave a comment. I don’t entertain pseudo, anonymous or bogus individuals. This site is my home (it has a Home Page, get it). I don’t let strangers who don’t introduce themselves into my home.

2. I love questions. I love them because a lot of times they are similar to someone else’s questions and can even trigger other questions from others. Questions also keep us all sharp. This is also why I respond to them as best as I can and at the soonest possible time. I believe that group answering benefits more people than private email exchanges.

3. We don’t have to agree. Debates are welcome. However, whether it is with me or any other visitors of my site, my rule is this: disagree if you must but keep things civil. That’s just how I run my home, and you are a visitor here. No shouting; I have seen it done in writing. No cursing and no insulting.

4. I reserve the right to delete your comments. Like I said, this is my home. I do not have an obligation to publish your comments. As a human being, you may enjoy the freedom to express your opinions on your own site but not on mine. To be specific, I will delete your comments if you post content that is in my sole opinion: (a) snarky; (b) off-topic; (c) libelous, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, profane, pornographic, offensive, false, misleading, or which otherwise violates or encourages others to violate my sense of decorum, civility or any law, including intellectual property laws; or (d) “spam,” i.e. an attempt to advertise, solicit, or otherwise promote goods and services. You may, however, post a link to your site or your most recent blog entry.

5. You retain ownership of your comments. I do not own them and I expressly disclaim any and all liability that may result from them. By commenting on my site, you agree that you retain all ownership rights in what you post here and that you will relieve me from any and all liability that may result from those posts.

6. You grant me the license to post your comments. This license is worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, and royalty-free. By posting comments on my site, you automatically grant me the right to store, use, transmit, display, publish, reproduce, and distribute your comments in any format, including but not limited to a blog, in a book, video, or presentation.

In short, my goal is to host interesting conversations with caring, honest, and respectful people. I believe this clear and simple comments policy will facilitate this.
